Railway Recruitment Cell, Eastern Railway (RRC-ER) has released the official notification for the Engagement of Act Apprentices for 2025-26. Eligible Indian Nationals can apply online for apprenticeship training in various Divisions and Workshops of Eastern Railway under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

Vacancy Details
Apprenticeship training slots are available across various Eastern Railway Units such as:
Howrah Division
Sealdah Division
Malda Division
Asansol Division
Kanchrapara Workshop
Liluah Workshop
Jamalpur Workshop
👉 Trades include Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Machinist, Carpenter, Painter, Diesel Mechanic, Wireman, Lineman, Refrigeration & AC Mechanic, and more.
(The number of slots is provisional and subject to change as per railway requirements.)
Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 13.09.2025)
Minimum: 15 years
Maximum: 24 years
Age relaxation: 5 years (SC/ST), 3 years (OBC), 10 years (PwBD), as per rules.
Educational Qualification
Must have passed 10th class (Matriculation) with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
Must possess a National Trade Certificate (ITI) in relevant trade issued by NCVT/SCVT.
Medical Fitness
Candidates must produce a valid Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a Government Authorized Doctor.
Selection Process
Selection will be merit-based on the average percentage of marks obtained in 10th Class & ITI.
No written exam or interview will be conducted.
Document Verification will follow for shortlisted candidates.

₹100/- (Non-refundable)
Exempted: SC/ST, PwBD, and Women candidates
Payment mode: Online via Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking

3. Register and fill the online application with valid details.
4. Upload scanned documents – Photo, Signature, 10th Marksheet, ITI Certificate, Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable).
5. Pay the application fee (if applicable).
6. Submit and take a printout for future reference.
Key Highlights
This engagement is only for training purposes and does not guarantee a job in Railways.
However, trained apprentices with National Apprenticeship Certificates (NAC) may get preference in future Level-1 recruitment in Railways.
Stipend will be paid as per Railway Board rules during training.
